The city of Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, recently completed the construction of the projects ahead of schedule that are part of the nationwide fitness program of 2022.

This has not only further strengthened the construction of the 15-minute fitness circles – places where locals can go and have a workout within a short walk of their homes – but has also met the different fitness needs of more residents.

Some 250 fitness paths have been built and updated in the city around the residential quarters, adding to the renovation of old communities and the rural revitalization – making it much more convenient for the public to exercise.

Overall, the construction of high-quality fitness venues and facilities has been promoted, with 10 football and basketball courts and 10 indoor gymnasiums added.

In addition, several projects – including the Bahe Zuoan Ecological Park, the Tang City Wall Relics Park and Fangzhi Park – have been completed and are now being used. These are multifunctional fitness parks integrating fitness trails, children's fitness, smart fitness, ball fitness and a number of fenced courts for different sports, which can meet the varying needs of different groups of people.

Meanwhile, fitness demonstration communities have been built in the Xinheju community of Weiyang district and in Mengcun community of Yanta district.
