冬去春来

In many places, "springing forward" is practiced

不少地方会“打春”

Also known as "beating the oxen"

又叫“鞭春牛”

Make a cow out of clay and fill it with grains

用土塑牛，内塞五谷

Bowing, smashing, digging up soil, picking up grains

叩拜、打碎、抢土、拾粒

It is considered auspicious to seize the bull's head first

谓之抢春，以抢得牛头为吉利

There is also a folk custom called "Biting Spring"

民间还有“咬春”的习俗

Eating spring rolls on the beginning of spring

立春吃春饼

It is the people's anticipation of the saying "A year's work begins in spring"

是人们对“一年之计在于春”的期待

And "Biting Spring" means chewing on radishes

而“咬春”嚼萝卜

Then it is taken from ancient times

则取古人

The meaning of "If you can chew through the grass roots, then you can accomplish anything."

“咬得草根断，则百事可做”之意

The weather will still be unpredictable, alternating between cold and warm

天气仍会冷暖不定

Reduce your clothing size gradually and exercise your body frequently

衣服慢些减，身体勤锻炼

Build up energy for the new year

为新的一年积蓄能量
